I’m a writer, video-maker, politics-follower, and government relations professional. This website is my personal portfolio.
Personal Projects
YouTube
My YouTube channel is where I post videos about politics and culture. I write, produce, and edit them all myself. Below, I’ve embedded a few of my longform videos. I also post shortform content, which helps drive engagement to the channel, and provides another platform for me to share content that I’m passionate about. Check out the whole channel here!
Managing this channel has given me plenty of experience with content creation tools like Premier Pro, Photoshop, Audition, Creator Studio, and CapCut.
Substack
I write and edit for a Substack publication called Progress and Poverty. It has several thousand subscribers and focuses on the ideas of land value taxation. Check out this article I wrote about property tax reform in Texas! The Lone Star State Needs Land Value Taxes
This article A Common Heritage, was the winner of an essay contest! It examines, using Rousseau’s Discourse on the Origin of Inequality as a lens, the relationship between people and the natural world. Give it a read here!
Community Engagement
I’m engaged with and stay current with Dallas-Fort Worth area issues.
Here’s a link to an Op-Ed of mine that was published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, responding to reporting about hateful political activity in Fort Worth.
Website
I built this website myself with WordPress.
Professional Writing Experience
When I was a staffer in the Texas Legislature, I wrote op-eds, speeches, and talking points for Democrats in the house. Some places my work has been seen include The Last Word With Lawrence O’Donnell on MSNBC, the Houston Chronicle, and the Austin American-Statesman.
My work about politics and policy impacting amputees is published online through the Amputee Coalition’s Thrive blog and in InMotion — a nationally circulated magazine serving the limb loss and limb difference community.
